Appreciate for Life.
Our Promise
Every Kamiya Furniture piece is made to last a lifetime. We guarantee our craftsmanship and material integrity for the life of the original owner. If a failure ever occurs due to either, we will repair or replace the piece at no charge.
Each Kamiya Furniture piece is built to endure. We warrant our work to be free from defects in materials or craftsmanship for the lifetime of the original owner, when cared for and used in a normal residential setting.
Certain circumstances may fall outside our warranty:
The furniture has been used in a manner other than intended.
The piece was purchased or obtained through a source other than Kamiya Furniture.
Customer-supplied materials were used in construction.
The piece was sold as a Showroom Sample.
Specific “Custom Care Instructions” were provided and not followed.
Our “General Care” recommendations were neglected.
If the piece is relocated, the owner is responsible for ensuring it is properly packed, transported, and acclimated to its new environment. Damage caused by moving, improper handling, or climate shock is not covered under warranty.
Custom Care Instructions
Custom Care Instructions may be issued with select Custom Commissions at the discretion of Kamiya Furniture, when deemed necessary for proper care and maintenance.
General Care Instructions
We never use plywood or veneers, only genuine hardwood, worked in its purest form. Solid wood is a dynamic material that naturally expands and contracts with changes in temperature and humidity, often moving about an eighth of an inch per foot. Our design and construction accounts for natural wood movement, and we embrace the labor it demands to create enduring, functional works of art.
With simple, intentional care, a Kamiya Furniture piece will age as gracefully as its owner.
Keep Clear of Heat Sources
Wood prefers a steady climate. Place your piece away from radiators, heat vents, and fireplaces. During winter months (when the air is typically drier), use a home humidifier to help maintain a relative humidity near 50%, if possible.
Protect from Heat and Pressure
Avoid setting hot dishes, pans, or electronics directly on the wood. Use soft-backed placemats, heat-resistant trivets, or pads to shield the surface and preserve its natural luster.
Mind the Sunlight
Moderate, indirect light will allow the wood to deepen and mature in tone. Prolonged direct sunlight can fade exposed areas, so use curtains, shades, or table coverings when possible. During the first 6–12 months, while the wood is light-acclimating, rotate any objects resting on it to ensure even color development.
Guard Against Moisture
Water is wood’s oldest adversary. Wipe away any spills immediately and never leave wet objects resting on a surface. Excessive moisture can damage finishes and loosen joinery over time.
Skip the Soaps
Kamiya Furniture requires no furniture cleaners, detergents, soaps, or cleaning product of any kind. A soft, dry, or lightly dampened cloth is all that’s needed to maintain its quiet sheen.
When to Wax
Re-waxing every 6–12 months is considered good preventative care. Whenever a surface begins to lose its luster, we recommend Renaissance Wax - a high-grade, conservator-quality microcrystalline polish developed by the British Museum.
Kamiya Furniture Refund & Cancellation Policy
Each Kamiya Furniture piece is made to order for a specific client. Because every project begins with carefully selected material procurement, we ask that our clients review all details carefully before confirming an order.
Custom Order Confirmation & Deposits
A signed proposal and deposit secure a place in our schedule and authorize materials to be purchased. Once materials have been ordered or work has begun, deposits become non-refundable.
Cancellations Before Work Begins
If you need to cancel prior to material procurement or fabrication, Kamiya Furniture will refund your deposit in full, less any non-recoverable transaction or design-development costs.
Cancellations After Work Has Begun
Because each piece is custom-built, cancellations after work begins are subject to a deduction for materials and labor completed to date. In most cases, the initial deposit fully covers these early costs and is therefore non-refundable.
Completed or Delivered Pieces
Completed or delivered pieces are considered final sale. Returns are not accepted. In the rare event of a structural defect or shipping damage directly attributable to Kamiya Furniture or its carrier partners, Kamiya Furniture will repair or replace the piece.
Defects & Repairs
If a structural or material defect appears under normal residential use, please contact us. We will inspect the piece and, at our discretion, repair or replace it at no charge. Damage due to neglect, misuse, environmental conditions, or transport by a third party is not covered.
Shipping Damage
If an item arrives damaged, note the damage with the carrier at delivery and contact Kamiya Furniture within 48 hours so that a claim can be filed. We will coordinate with the carrier to repair or replace the piece as appropriate.
Refund Method & Timing
Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within 14 business days.
Custom Nature of Work
Because each Kamiya Furniture piece is built to specification from hand-selected hardwood, small variations in color, grain, and dimension are natural and part of the work’s authenticity. Such variations are not considered defects and do not qualify for return or refund.
